Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2015
Exceptional and historical hockey card artifacts are these two thin metal sheets which were used in the production of Topps’ blue-bordered 1962-63 trading cards, featuring the Black Hawks, Rangers and the Bruins. What fun it is to spot the familiar images of Hull, Hall, Mikita, Ratelle, Gilbert, Worsley, Bucyk, Bathgate, the checklist, team cards and more, with the "Yello 3070 hockey proofs" sheet images appearing more clearly than on the other. The one with “Yello 3070 hockey proofs” penned to the bottom edge has Hull, Gilbert, Bathgate and a few others appearing more clearly in a seemingly "washed" area and is showing the player's images and the team logos while the “#3070A black hockey” sheet has a larger area partially "washed", is showing the player's images and names as well as the team logos. The "Yello 3070 hockey proofs" sheet exhibits fold lines / small dents and some stains along the edges mainly noticeable on the right edge while the "3070A black hockey" sheet is showing some fold lines / small dents and has oxydation spots located on the left edge and smaller ones throughout. Measuring 27” by 30”, these fascinating relics are wicked cool!
