Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2015
One for the ages was the highly-publicized and anticipated Canadiens’ Centennial Game, played December 4th, 2009, with the storied franchise celebrating its 100th anniversary in grand style. The presentation of dozens of past greats before the game against the longtime rival Bruins made for ceremonies which Habs’ faithful will not soon forget. Once play got underway, Montreal players were of course pumped, with Michael Cammalleri pumping-in three second period goals which led to a 5-1 triumph. Referee Stephane Auger worked the game with Bill McCreary and, seizing the significance, picked up this puck at the conclusion of the second period. Light scuffs/scratches indeed indicate game use, with “Sher-Wood – Official – Made in Canada” on the side. A game puck lover’s dream, the special piece of Habs history will be accompanied by a Classic LOA signed by referee Auger.
