Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2015
Even some longtime collectors of Montreal Expos material are still trying to track down a first-year media guide and/or pocket schedule, with both offered in this nifty lot. The guide here is in collectible VG-VG+ condition with some rather light cover scuffs and a couple of small cover creases, while the schedule is similar with a top-to-bottom crease affecting the blue O’Keefe portion, but no writing/scores are on the inside. Likely scarcer than an opening day ticket stub is one from game number two at Jarry Park, with the example here exhibiting multiple creases but accompanied by interesting info about the Expos’ 4-3 loss to the Cardinals on April 15, 1969, Lou Brock singling-in the winning run in front of 14,718 fans. From late in team history are complete season ticket books, with the 2003 ensemble, (Terrace $16 tickets), featuring swell pictures of various Expos’ stars over the years and the scarcer 2004 set of $10 bleacher seat tix from the last fateful season and thus including one from the last Expos game at Olympic Stadium. The Big O graces the cover of a VG-EX MLB All-Star Game program, from 1982, with a laminated likeness of a ticket to the game, a souvenir pinback button from the same and a vintage Topps Rusty Staub Story booklet completing the appealing group.
