Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2015
Crafty center Adam Oates was with the Boston Bruins and in the midst of a 45-goal, 97-assist season – a career year – when he donned a jersey similar to this one in the 1993 NHL All-Star Game in Montreal. Everything is sewn-on, including the tackle twill NHL crest, numbers and stars, “OATES” across a white nameplate, the Stanley Cup centennial patch at the right breast and the Montreal All-Star Game patch on the right shoulder. An NHL Center Ice Authentic Collection tag is sewn into the neck, with size 52 and Maska fly tags nearby. CCM andn NHL logos are embroidered into the rear hem where an NHL Official Licensed Product/NHLPA label also appears and a fight strap is indeed present. Later elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame, Adam Oates back in the day, applied a big black marker autograph between the two digits on the back of the jersey, adding his number “12” and helping to create/enhance a splendid collectible.
