Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2015
The card of Frank “King” Clancy is among the highlights of this pre-war dozen of Canadian Gum and V129 cards, two issues that surface less-frequently than some of the others. Rather heavy diagonal creasing sends King to F-G, similar to Bun Cook’s rookie card. The RCs of Red Horner, Red Dutton and Dave Trottier are better at G+, with that of Duke Dutkowski at F. A Georges Mantha rookie is the condition leader at VG-EX, while RCs of Murray Murdoch and Dave Kerr (G+) and two of Danny Cox (VG+, VG) complete the colorful portion of the lot. Meanwhile, light vertical top-to-bottom creasing affects V129 cards of Happy Day and Battleship Leduc, rendering them attractive lower grade examples, with the former G+ and the latter VG.
