Led by the legendary Lou Gehrig, these World Wide Gum cards are highlighted by some spectacular and striking vivid colors and were printed and distributed in Canada. We see the superb #92 Gehrig card as the condition leader at EX+ and have a difficult time moving on to the rest! Clean borders and back, stellar centering and a terrific scuff and scratch-free surface are attributes to mention, with two touched corners and a minor notch in the middle of the left edge denying the eye-candy a higher mark. The #1 card depicting Roger Hornsby and those of fellow HOFers 58-Jimmy Foxx and 70-Arky Vaughan are just behind at EX, with two cards of 59-Mickey Cochrane (VG+, VG) and 54-Lefty Grove (G-VG) also notable. We then see 16 crease-free cards, including 18-Sam Rice, in the VG-EX, VG-EX+ and EX grades, with another seven, (4-Maranville, 17-Lidstrom) in the VG to VG+ range. Nineteen low grade cards (P-F-G) include 55-Dizzy Dean (G) and 64-Frisch (F). All but one have bilingual backs, with details of duplicates available on our website. Much more difficult to find than similar American (Goudey) cards, this fantastic find will surely pique the interest vintage collectors.
Nineteen duplicates include a F-G #1 Hornsby card and eight in the aforementioned crease-free nicer conditions. Completing are nine ranging from P (1 card) to VG.
