Deceased HOFers W.A. Hewitt and Foster Hewitt amassed this memorabilia collection that features items from both inductees into the builders category. W.A.’s War Amps key holder with his initials and a hardcover copy of his “Down The Stretch” are among the items included here from the Hewitt family’s personal collection along with an old Britains toy, which has some missing pieces, that belonged to Foster, the hockey broadcasting pioneer. A 1972 Canada-Russia Series commemorative copper coin in case that belonged to Foster and a number of letters in regards to the Summit Series are included as are a number of photos, clippings and a pair of printing plates for the wedding of Foster's sister Audrey. (6) Six 8x10 photos of Foster and (3) 11x14 photos of Foster are included along with an October 1972 letter signed by Windsor mayor Frank Wansbrough congratulating Foster on his broadcasts of the 1972 Canada-Russia series among a few other pieces of correspondence he received for his work on the Summit Series. A book cover sleeve of “He Shoots, He Scores!” by Foster Hewitt is included along with various clippings and a framed front page of the May 30, 1972 edition of The Globe and Mail with a cover photo of Foster and his bride Joan Darlie Lang.
