Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2015

“He shoots, he scores!” That expression succinctly sums up in just a few words Foster Hewitt’s invaluable contributions to the hockey world as a broadcast pioneer of the game on radio and TV. The man who coined that oft repeated phrase was presented with this Hockey Hall of Fame ring when he was inducted into the builder category in 1965. Originally from the Hewitt family collection, the 10-karat gold ring has an approximate weight of 11 grams. The “10K” stamp sits inside the size 7 band, which has “F. Hewitt Jan. 1965” engraved on it. Clearly worn with great pride, the ring exhibits various light scratches on the band and some smoothing to the tableau, which maintains most of its original black, white and green enamel paint. Comes with a Classic Auctions LOA.
