The late Gary Bergman was presented with this splendid and well-deserved heavy bronze trophy as the 1971 Detroit Red Wing of the Year by the March of Dimes. The bronze statue of a child with leg braces and crutches stands 10 3/4" tall atop the wood base of the trophy. “March of Dimes Detroit National Foundation” medallion sits on the left front of the base with “Detroit Red Wing of the Year Gary Bergman 1971” engraved on the plaque affixed to the bottom right corner. This very heavy trophy from Bergman’s personal collection has the "Walter E. Kutch Co, Detroit" manufacturer’s logo on the bottom right corner of the rear of the base, which has a brown felt bottom. There is a scratch on the top of the wood base that runs through the bottom of the right crutch. Comes with an LOA from the Bergman family.
