This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2015
An amazing offering here with Martin Brodeur's 2004 World Cup of Hockey Team Canada game-worn jersey which has been photo-matched to both the quarterfinals and the gold medal game! Perennial favorites, the Canadians didn't disappoint with victories over the US, Slovakia, Russia, the Czech Republic and finally Finland in the gold medal game with a score of 3-2. This jersey can be positively photo-matched in numerous photos, including two from the quarterfinals against Slovakia, where Canada triumphed 5-0, and two from the finals vs the Finns. All of the proper tagging is present on this international gem, including the 2004 World Cup of Hockey patch over the left breast, the IIHF patch on the lower outer hem, and matching Canada maple leaf patches over both shoulders. A second IIHF tag appears in the collar, with a Nike 58G size tag, while a Nike inventory bar code has also been heat-pressed on the lower inner hem. A few light stains worth mentioning appear on the outer white piping of the collar. This important museum-quality Brodeur game-worn World Cup Team Canada jersey will come with an LOA from Classic Auctions.
The Canadians were able to beat the Slovaks in the quarters, and edge out the Finns in the gold-medal final to capture the 2004 World Cup of Hockey. Important photo-matches appear on this tantalizing Martin Brodeur Team Canada game-worn jersey for both the aforementioned games. Four different photos in total show marks that are matched to this jersey. Photo number one and two, both different images from the Sept. 8th quarterfinal show an exact match with a pair of blacks marks, one to the right of the team crest, the other, just next to the top tip of the team crest. Photo number three which shows the shutout king hoisting the World Cup trophy, has four distinct marks that match the jersey, including the black mark to the right of the team crest that was matched in photos one and two. The other three identifiers include a small black mark in the upper white band, a diagonal black mark on the lower red band, and some fabric pulls on the lower front. The fourth match photo, that shows Brodeur posing with the other team Canada members for the on-ice photo after the gold medal game, shows a loose thread that's noticeable on the Nike logo, just above Martin's right breast. Impeccable matches make this one-of-a-kind jersey worthy of even the most advanced Team Canada, Martin Brodeur, or Hall of Fame collections.
