Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2015
Classic assembly of Quaker Oats photos has nice and not so nice examples, along with more desirable, as well as common pictures, with the lowdown as follows: Carrying the most weight in price guides and present here is the picture capturing the Leafs’ Max Bentley in front of his locker, with however creases to report, to go along with tape damage and paper loss and equaling a decent filler. Also difficult to locate are action photos, with Series A, numbers 2, 3 and 4 included here but in similar condition to the Bentley. Now then, for Toronto pictures in nice collectible condition with no major or unsightly flaws, the group of more interesting/valuable examples includes the Syl Apps variation with the Leafs’ legend holding the Stanley Cup, Tim Horton, Boivin, Costello, Hassard, Maloney, Migay, Rollins, Sloan home and Solinger, while tape marks affect the corners of Lumley and Nesterenko. There and three different Turk Broda pictures with however edge tears. As for Montreal, pictures in nice collectible condition with only minor flaws are highlighted by Richard still and Richard action, Durnan (handle touches border), Campeau, Geoffrion, Harvey still, Kaiser, Lach action, Lach blade in corner, Laycoe action, McCormack vertical, Moore, Reardon higher image and Robertson, with creases and tape marks at the corners of Beliveau. We would say pretty much an even distribution of Canada’s two popular teams, with well over half the collection in collectible shape and offering interesting break-up value or an instant collection.
