Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2015
A thought and question-provoking piece of O-Pee-Chee and hockey card history is this likely unique uncut sheet, with the images of OPC’s big 5” by 7” cards of 1940-41 somehow or for some reason being printed on both sides of an imposing 25-1/2” by 36” sheet. Black and white pictures numbered 101 to 125 are on one side and include those of Blake, Broda, Drillon, Reardon RC, Apps, Stewart RC and Lach RC, while the sepia jobs from 126 to 150 on the other include additional (different) Broda and Apps images, along with the rookie card pics of legends Max Bentley and Milt Schmidt. The treasure has some obvious condition issues, with multiple creases, edge wear/tears and staining, with a lower corner, (with Broda and Lach back-to-back), the most affected. Despite the flaws, the rarity will still make for a sensational display…that can be flipped over from time to time! Good luck with this fascinating opportunity.
