Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2015
Baseball HOFer Andre Dawson, inducted into Cooperstown in 2010, has signed a couple of nice pieces here including his circa 1980 Montreal Expos Worth Andre Dawson model W225B game-used bat. The great slugger placed a big bold black marker autograph on the sweet spot of the barrel and “AD 4 1/2 W225B” is stamped on the bottom of the knob. Good game use shows in ball transfer marks on the barrel, which has green bat rack streaks. There is a light coat of pine tar on the upper handle and the lower handle shows evidence of shaving. There is a crack in the handle that does not diminish the signed bat’s display. Also featured is an 11” x 14” photo of Dawson with the Montreal Expos (with a PSA/DNA sticker on the bottom right corner) placed into a matte and frame measuring 17 ¼” x 20 ¼” overall, and displaying his signature in clear and bold blue marker. Joining this is Andre’s personal duffle bag from his appearance at the 1991 All-Star Game in Toronto, when he was with the Chicago Cubs where he won the NL MVP Award in 1987. The black with blue trim canvas bag has the All-Star logos screened on the sides and ends, and has been nicely signed on both sides in clear red marker by Dawson. Cool Dawson items in excellent condition. The Dawson signed bat comes with an LOA.
