Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2015

Deceased HOFer Earl Seibert’s awesome circa 1944-45 Black Hawks game-worn wool jersey displays a great team crest and fresh strong colors throughout. The legendary defenseman was selected to the NHL First or Second All-Star Team each year from 1935 to 1944. This classic barber pole Hawks jersey was originally obtained from the Earl Seibert estate and a flag tag inside the jersey has a handwritten "Seibert 44" handwritten on it for the size. Round black, red and white triple felt team crest sewn on the front features sewn-on white felt lettering for the team name, and the Indian head logo in tan, black and red felt with colorful thread embroidering details throughout. Just fantastic, as are the white and red double felt number 17 sewn on the back. There are small holes in the jersey from storage and bleeding of the colors from sweat in the arm pit areas with some bleeding to the colors also noticeable in the top front area below the collar, none of which diminishes the display of this historic Black Hawks wool sweater worn by one of the elite NHL defensemen of that era. Comes with an LOA.
