Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2015
Jumping directly from Canadian university hockey to the NHL, Winnipeg native Mike Ridley was a consistent scorer during his 13-year big-league career, finishing up with a 20-goal season with the Canucks in 1996-97. Mike’s home white jersey here has a faded “S2 96” in black marker on the Maska Ultrafil tag in the neck, near where a size 54 tag appears. With CCM and NHL logos embroidered into the rear hem and a Canuck Place patch sewn on the right shoulder, the jersey exhibits good game use, with countless black stick marks, most of them on the sleeves and back, significant pilling at the cuffs, a one-inch board burn in the black stripe of the right elbow and a smaller one which resulted in a hole near the “1” on the left sleeve. The career 292-goal man’s surname is sewn onto a white nameplate.
