Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2015
From the historic 1972 Summit-Series that featured the best hockey players Canada and Russia had to offer, we have Tony Esposito's Northland Goalie stick. Esposito was chosen as the backup to Ken Dryden for the series, and for good reason, as he was just coming off his third consecutive 30-plus win season at the time. A great keepsake from a more than memorable series.
According to our consignor, this Tony Esposito stick was obtained at the Team Canada training camp, and this model is the correct style used by Espo during the Summit-Series. Northland Custom Pro model with red white and black accent striping stickers, this stick retains it's tape job on the blade, as well as five strands located on the upper paddle, and its devoid of it's tape on the knob. Stamped "Esposito" on the upper shaft, it's in excellent overall condition.
