Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2015
Goaltending legend Jacques Plante’s early-1970s Toronto Maple Leafs Sherbrooke game-used stick is a not-often-seen model Jake the Snake used during his stellar seasons with the Buds. “J Plante” is stamped on the shaft which displays red goalpost paint transfer and retains the deceased HOFer’s tape jobs on the knob and handle. Plante’s original tape jobs remain on the upper paddle and all along the blade and up the heel. There are cracks on the bottom edge of the heel and cracks in the middle of the blade that do not diminish the display of this beauty, yielded by one of the true pioneers of goaltending whose legacy is still felt in the game to this day.
