Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2015

Coaching legend Toe Blake and goaltending icon Jacques Plante are among 16 members of the 1956-57 Stanley Cup champion Montreal Canadiens whose autographs appear on the vintage team-signed sheet featured in this magnificent framed display. Maurice “Rocket” Richard, Jean Beliveau, Doug Harvey and Tom Johnson make it a total of six deceased HOFers who have signed. Along with Henri Richard, Dickie Moore and Bert Olmstead, that’s a total of nine members of the Hockey Hall of Fame! The signed sheet displays to roughly 9x8 in the bottom right of the 32 1/2" x 26 1/2” black frame that features a picture of the old Montreal Forum façade to the left of the autographs, and a 1959-60 Canadiens team photo above it. Comes with a LOA from JSA.
Claude Provost, Don Marshall and Jean-Guy Talbot, who were all members of all five Canadiens Stanley Cup winners from 1956-60, have also signed along with Floyd Curry, Dollard St-Laurent, Andre Pronovost and Bud McPherson. The sheet has a couple of reddish-brown stains on the right edge to the right of Maurice Richard’s signature that do not touch any of the autographs.
The Habs team photo that displays to 10 1/2" x 17” at the top of the frame is the 1959-60 Canadiens squad that capped Montreal’s record run of five straight Stanley Cup titles.
