Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2020
A true hockey journeyman, seeing action with ten different NHL clubs throughout his career, J.J. Daigneault was selected 10th overall by Vancouver in 1984, with one of his crowning moments scoring the winning goal for Philadelphia in Game 6 of the 1987 Stanley Cup Finals vs Edmonton. This Canadiens jersey was worn by the Montreal native in either 1993-94 or 1994-95, and it feature’s the captain’s “C”, as Daigneault must have briefly replaced Guy Carbonneau or Kirk Muller due to injury. A Maska Ultrafil label and size “52” fly tag grace the collar, with embroidered CCM and NHL crests over the reverse bottom hem. Styled with the most famous team crest in hockey, “48” appears over the sleeves and verso in blue-over-red tackle twill, with the nameplate removed. Obtained directly from the Montreal Canadiens, a signed LOA from Rejean Houle will accompany.
A few washed-out stick marks are visible over the lower front, with additional dark marks over the left sleeve and armpit. There is also some light pilling around the collar.
