Some hobbyist will have fun with this varied hockey card grab bag. We’ll lead the story with five cards in early PSA holders and tell you about them in chronological order. A 1951-52 Parkhurst #8-Paul Masnick is slabbed VG-EX 4, followed by a ’55-56 Parkhurst All-Time Great card of 24-Joe Primeau at EX-MT 6. Three Parkies are then appealing NM-MT 8 examples; ’62-63 47-Bobby Rousseau RC and 50-Tom Johnson and ’63-64 88-Boom Boom Geoffrion. A ’58-59 Parkie Frank Mahovlich card appears EX-MT in its screwdown holder, while a crease in a ’66-67 Gordie Howe All-Star card sends it to VG+. Topps stamp inserts from ’60-61 (Worsley, Mikita, Burns, Gardiner are in the VG neighborhood, with a Bobby Hull stamp missing a corner/edge. Five second series “Tall Boys” from ’64-65 average VG+ and include #s 76, 79, 83, 97 and 103, with a half dozen from the first series also present and similar. Notables among other Parkhurst cards are a ’51-52 Ted Kennedy rookie (F), ’54-55 29-Kennedy (VG-EX), three other ’54-55s; 41-Howe (P), 99-Plante action (VG) and 100-Sawchuk Stops Boom Boom (G). There are also good-looking ’62-63 cards including 1-Billy Harris (EX) and 32-Delvecchio(EX-MT). Other Parkhurst and Topps cards from the ‘50s and early-‘60s are joined by between eight and ten Topps cards from the mid-to-late ‘60s, most of them Red Wing players. We don’t see anything destined for professional grading companies, but most cards are in collectible VG to EX condition, with a ’68-69 Topps Gordie Howe at VG and OPC cards of Sawchuk and Unger RC at EX (OC) the most noteworthy. St. Lawrence Sales cards from ’52-53 and picturing Quebec senior players total 16 but are low grade with back damage, with however some pleasant surprises elsewhere and, like we said at the top, some fun awaiting the new owner of this miscellaneous stash.
