Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2015
The United States won the inaugural World Cup of Hockey in 1996, thanks in large part to the offensive contributions of Brett Hull. The Hall of Fame right wing led the tournament with seven goals and 11 points in seven games. The Golden Brett scored Team USA’s first two goals in the decisive third game of the final, his second of the game launching the Americans’ lightning quick late comeback against Canada. The 1996 World Cup of Hockey patch is sewn on the left shoulder of Hull’s 1996 Team USA game-worn jersey. The U.S. wore white jerseys for six of the seven game during the tournament, including all three games in the final. Nike size 56 tagging sits in the back of the neck and the fight strap remains whole. Game wear shows in faint red paint transfer on the upper left front and various thread pulls and fabric snags on the front and both sleeves. Comes with Brett Hull’s signed LOA.
