Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
The backup during his time in Detroit to netminders Chris Osgood, Dominik Hasek and Curtis Joseph, Manny Legace was a Stanley Cup champion with the Red Wings in 2002. We have a Springfield Falcons jersey that was worn by the Toronto native while in his formative pre-NHL time in the AHL during the mid-1990s. A sewn-down Bauer ProWear label and size “56G” fly tag are affixed to the collar, with Bauer and AHL crests over the reverse bottom hem. Styled with a large and multi-coloured Falcons team crest with embroidered detailing, the V-neck sweater has been accented with oversized white tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers with black trim, with “Legace” across the nameplate in matching material. A sponsorship patch from Citgo is also present, situated just above the right breast. Heavy scuffing to the material has taken place in a number of spots along with pilling, with dark marks visible over each sleeve. There is also a large team repair over the lower front band.
