Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2015

There are plenty of great team repairs to report on Brent Sutter’s 1990-91 New York Islanders game-worn captain’s jersey. Brent won the Stanley Cup each of his first two seasons with the Islanders dynasty and went on to assume the captain’s C straight from the hands of HOF defenseman Denis Potvin after he retired in 1987. This gamer with a faint ballpoint size “52” written on the Maska flag tag in the neck is from Sutter’s fourth and final season as Isles captain. The CCM and NHL logos are embroidered on the right rear tail and the jersey exhibits nice pilling inside and more game wear shows in marks on the Islanders crest and fabric pulls throughout in addition to the 15 sewing fixes on the front, back and both sleeves.
There are six team repairs on the right sleeve, including two at the top of the “2” in sewn-on blue and orange double twill, three team repairs on the left sleeve, three more on the front and three on the back, including one on the left edge of the upper part of the sewn-on 2, and one on the right rear hem.
