Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2015
Oh, the cereal that mom was asked to buy back in the day! Some of these delectable treasures remain in their original little bags, with Canadiens Worsley, Savard, JC Tremblay, Ferguson, Backstrom and Rousseau thus in tiptop shape and joined by 11 similar Maple Leafs; Hall-of-Famers Horton, Keon, Pilote, Ullman, Pronovost and Pulford, as well as Henderson, Oliver, Smith, Stemkowski and Walton. The unopened Leafs marbles have a darker blue back half than the “loose” ones, with Bower, Ellis, Gamble and Pelyk helping to complete the Toronto ensemble and duplicates of Ellis, Henderson, Ullman and Walton also present. Loose Canadiens marbles bringing Montreal’s total to 13 are Beliveau, Harper, Harris, Laperriere, Lemaire, Gilles Tremblay and Vachon, with just Cournoyer and Richard needed to be tracked down for a complete set. Habs doubles, which show a little more handling/wear, are Harris, Rousseau, Savard and G. Tremblay (2), with a damaged Lemaire also present, along with two “red” marbles but with pictures of Leafs Ellis and Oliver in them. Both collectors and dealers may want to consider this stash.
