A cache of seldom seen vintage British hockey items are offered, with scrapbook pages, photos and programs included, along with rare stamps issued for the Wembley Lions and Wembley Monarchs in 1938. Included, we have a photo of the circa 1938 Brighton Tigers mounted to board (4 ½” x 6 ½”), four signed photos of Streatham players from 1947-48 (3 ¼” x 5 ¼”, Vern Gardiner, George Drysdale, Monty Reynolds and Doug Wilson), a photo of the early-1950s Edinburgh Royals (3 ½” x 5 ¼", loose within a team-signed small folder with approx 16 pencil signatures), and two oversized photos mounted to board, one of the 1952 Wembley Lions, with a signed personalization to the coach Frank Boucher (12” x 14 ½”), while the second shows the Duke of Edinburgh meeting members including Boucher (11” x 14”). The programs include a trio for the Harringay Racers, from 1953 (2) and 1954 along with four from 1949 for the Wembley Lions. The stamps include two original Wembley Lions stamp sets still attached, in their original envelopes along with two matching sets for the Wembley Monarchs (three rows of four stamps for twelve total), and another three sets of Lions stamps and one Monarchs (still attached, but removed from the original envelope). Lastly, the scrapbook pages (11 ½” x 15 ½”) are from 1937 and total 24, with newspaper clippings of British hockey, with most having items glues front-to-back.
