Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2015
Classic Maple Leaf Gardens’ collectibles, these miniature hockey sticks have actual real photos applied to the blades, with the earliest ones pasted and the players not identified. We recognize Armstrong, Olmstead, Stanley, Duff, Brewer,
Regan, Hillman and Reaume, the latter with a “1956” date penned to it. Appearing to be from the mid-1960s are photos stapled to the blades and identifying Bower, Sawchuk, Keon, Armstrong, Shack (2), Ellis, Pappin and Selby, while from the early-‘70s are sticks picturing Ullman, Kehoe, Jarry and (covered in tape) Henderson. Photos display well with a bit of paper loss on four, while the sticks are sturdy, many with their original accent stripes.
The shafts of the sticks measure approximately 12 to 13 inches long and the blades about 4-1/2”. Penned to the shaft of the aforementioned Reaume stick is “Thurs. Mar. 22, 1956 – From Future Aces Hockey School.” Cool stuff from MLG!
