Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2015
The Brooklyn Dodgers were the reigning World Series champions for the only time in their history when they won their final National League pennant in 1956. Manager Walter Alston and fellow HOFers Pee Wee Reese, Duke Snider, Roy Campanella, Sandy Koufax and Don Drysdale are among the 25 blue ink autographs on this 1956 Dodgers team-signed Spalding Official National League baseball. Hodges, Newcombe, Furillo, Gilliam, Zimmer, Branca, Erskine, Labine and Craig are among the others who have signed as well as Sal “The Barber” Maglie, who has signed above Alston’s autograph on the sweet spot. Comes with a JSA LOA.
“1956 Dodgers” is handwritten in blue ink over the “Official National League” stamp above NL president Warren Giles’ facsimile signature. Nicely preserved and clean ball has a small stain in the middle of Lehman’s last name.
