Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2015
The thought of these marvellous photos on display on your special walls, after having hung for many years in the Montreal Forum while chapters of Canadiens’ history were written, should excite you to lofty heights! Most of the photos are the work of the legendary David Bier, with “David Bier Photo” added in black ink to the pictures of Blake, Bouchard and Maurice Richard and then the famous “David Bier” embossed stamp appearing in the corner of the photos of the next six men to wear the captain’s “C”; Harvey, Beliveau, Henri Richard, Cournoyer, Savard and Gainey. The crystal-clear clarity of the latter group is striking and spellbinding, with the photos measuring just over 10” by 13” and applied to sturdy 13-1/2” by 17” black mats onto which the respective leader’s name was stencilled in gold letters. Originally framed, the collection is completed by Carbonneau, Chelios, Muller, Keane and Turgeon and awaits its lucky new owner. Wow!
