Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2015
Mario Lemieux’s 1986-87 Penguins game-used stick is from Le Magnifque’s first of six career 50-goal seasons. Super Mario scored 54 and had 53 assists for 107 points in only 63 games during a season that saw him star at Rendez-Vous ’87 before his breakout performance with Wayne Gretzky in the 1987 Canada Cup. Mario’s iconic No. “66” is handwritten in blue marker at the top of the “M.Lemieux” stamp on the shaft of his black Titan TPM1020 gamer. Lemieux’s original tape jobs remain on the knob and blade which has nice light wear along the bottom edge. A beauty of an early Lemieux gamer with a "25 fev 1987" date stamp and "7-285" pattern stamp low on the back of the shaft.
