Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2015
All-time wins and shutouts leader Martin Brodeur’s photo-matched and signed 1997-98 Devils game-worn jersey is from the goaltending great’s first of eight 40-win seasons with New Jersey. Marty racked up 43 wins, the first of nine times he would lead the NHL in victories. The photo matches are from shots of Brodeur in game action in the final two months of 1997 and early 1998 and they include the long horizontal black mark on the right front hem just in front of the hip seam and the shorter black mark above it, the small black mark below the “0” sewn on the right sleeve located at the intersection of the white and the red stripe, the diagonal dark black mark below the team crest on the front, and the two loose black threads on the lower left corner of the “0” on the left sleeve. Marty has signed in black marker on the left breast.
CCM goalie style and size 60 flag tags remain in the neck. More game wear shows in black marks on the front and on both sleeves, with a small reddish-brown spot stain on the right cuff.
