Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2015

With their backs against the wall in the Summit Series, Team Canada 1972 got three straight game-winning goals in Moscow from Paul Henderson, including his famous series winner with 34 seconds remaining in Game 8. Originally obtained from a member of the Team Canada 1972 equipment staff, Paul’s 1972 Canada-Russia Series CCM Custom Pro game-used stick has “Henderson” handwritten in black marker below his well-worn original tape job on the upper shaft, which has been shaved down on the sides. Residue of Henderon’s removed original tape job is visible on the blade, which is lightly worn on the bottom edge from off-ice use after the fact and had fiberglass-type tape added later. Game wear includes black marks low on the shaft and a tiny bit of red goalpost paint transfer.
The flecks of red goalpost paint transfer are on the front of the lower shaft within the outline of the missing lower tape band.
