Miracle on Ice gold medalist Rob McClanahan’s 1979 pre-Olympics tournament Team USA jacket predates the young American hockey team’s amazing upset win over the Soviet national team at Lake Placid. “Mac” is written in pinkish-red marker on the inside collar of the white fleece lining inside this blue satin-like button front jacket. “USA” is spelled out in white and red double twill sewn on over a sewn-on gold on white double twill hockey stick on the left breast. The jacket was traded in December 1979 at Lake Placid. The U.S. team won the pre-Olympic tournament, going undefeated in four games while outscoring their opponents 15-6. A fantastic piece for any “Miracle on Ice” collection.
