One playoff game to earn a spot on the Stanley Cup was quite a way for Gaye Stewart to start his NHL career, while the Calder Trophy the following year (1942-43), was exciting too. Exciting to collectors are Stewart’s two different Bee Hive photos from towards the end of Group 1 production, with this home sweater version considered the scarcer of the scarce. A little nick out of the upper right corner of the photo itself is to be aware of, along with rather light corner wear to the beige mat and minor toning to the latter, only noticeable when lifting up the picture. A small back crease in the lower right corner of the backing also detracts little from the appeal.
