Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2015

This Doug Gilmour game-used stick features plenty of in-game action battle scars. The Hespeler 5500, with Fibretech4 branding, was used after Gilmour was traded from the Calgary Flames to the Toronto Maple Leafs in January 1992. The stick features the Flames coloring on the logo, which Gilmour had replaced with new blue branding after a few games. He later went on to use a selection of Hespeler and Titan sticks for the balance of his career. The stick was in the hands of a future Hockey Hall of Famer during what many consider to be the best two-year run of his career. Gilmour went on to have back to back 100 point seasons with the Leafs and led them to the 1992-93 Conference Finals. There are several distinctive game used marks on the stick which make the photo-matches indisputable including a large scratch in the "S" of Hespeler and a number of black marks on the back of the shaft. The stick even appears in Gilmour's 92-93 Fleer ultra hockey card. The top of the stick features a white taped knob with Gilmour's #93 written in black marker. The blade has some black tape on the heel of the blade.
