Jay McClement wore this 2014 Winter Classic Maple Leafs gamer at the Big House in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Toronto beat the Detroit Red Wings 3-2 in a shootout in front of 105,491 fans on New Year’s Day. The 2014 Winter Classic patch is sewn on the right shoulder of this retro beauty that evokes the look of the sweaters worn by the 1932 Stanley Cup champion Maple Leafs. The size 56 flag tag in the back of the tie-neck has a team store price tag attached to it by a plastic tie. MeiGray NHL Game-Worn Jersey 2013-2014 Season patch is sewn inside the rear tail. Comes with a Maple Leafs COA, which states that McClement wore this jersey during the second period. A pair of matching socks is included.
White felt maple leaf crest sewn on the front features sewn-on blue letters that spell out the full team name. The alternate captain’s A on the left breast and surname letters on the nameplate are all sewn-on white felt, as are the numbers on the back and both sleeves, which also feature zig-zag cable stitching through the middle. Reebok laundry instruction flag tag remains inside the left hip seam.
This single-use 2014 Winter Classic game-worn jersey displays no discernible wear.
The socks are a pair used in NHL games but not necessarily worn by McClement, who was penalized for high-sticking at 11:04 of the second period in the 2014 Winter Classic.
