Multi-sport athlete Chris Weinke wore this 1990 Toronto Blue Jays jersey 10 years before he became the oldest Heisman Trophy winner as quarterback of the Florida State Seminoles. Weinke, who was 28 when he was named the most outstanding college player in the United States in 2000, was selected by the Blue Jays in the second round of the 1990 MLB draft. His surname is sewn-on the back of this #58 Blue Jays jersey with Wilson size 44 tagging on the left front tail and the “90” season patch sewn in the back of the neck. Comes with a Blue Jays COA.
The white button-front jersey has a few faint marks on the front as well as some very tiny dot reddish-brown stains on the front of the left sleeve.
Weinke, who was a first baseman, signed with the Blue Jays in 1990 and spent six years in their minor league system before he decided to accept a scholarship at Florida State. The Minnesota native was also the captain of his high school hockey team.
