Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2015
Fascinating to say the least is this massive collection of 1930s Associated News Service posters/Broadsides measuring 13 1/2" x 12 3/4" on nice stock paper. Totaling approximately 300+ pages and placed in an Associated News Service album, the posters, along with amazing shots from events around the world, include a group of pictures (8 at least) of the legendary Babe Ruth, plus various others of Ty Cobb, Charles Lindberg, Jack Dempsey, Rudy Vallee, Thomas Edison, beauty pageants, Knute Rocke, and reams of baseball, football, boxing, horse racing, and general scenes from different walks of life that’ll keep you smiling and fascinated for an endless amount of time.
Condition-wise sees most of the posters now loose from the hard cover album, and the tops and bottoms of the posters have all been trimmed of the text “Associated News Service – Latest World Events In Pictures” at the top, while the bottom had the date and volume of the newspaper that these colorful and large posters were transformed from. A few tears and rough edges can be found as well, but in general, these amazingly cool posters are display-ready and if you decide to frame a few, you’ll have a blast trying to decide from so many delightful examples.
