Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2015

Wielded by the great Pavel Datsyuk in his rookie-era circa 2001-02 days with Detroit after coming over from the Russian Superleague is this game-used Easton stick with Pavel’s original blade tape and a handwritten “13” on the original knob tape. This gamer has been spray-painted black from the blade tape upwards about 18” and the shaft is lined with black marks, possibly something he did himself, or possibly the results of a product he might have used for better gripping. All in all a terrific game-used stick (that still has its original Red Wings store sticker price on it), from the time the great Datsyuk was an NHL rookie, and it’s all capped off in fine style by his signature in large, clear, and bold white marker on the blade tape. Cool early stick from one of the league’s finest players.
