Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2015
Sweet collection of 15 big league “pattern sticks” from various NHL stars up for grabs here, making this an excellent chance to expand your stick collection in considerable fashion. Pattern sticks are game-used or game-issued sticks sent to stick manufacturing companies where tape is removed and the sticks kept as “patterns” for future production, thus the reference numbers handwritten on the blades and shafts of each. We have 12 game-used pattern sticks and 3 game-issued pattern sticks here, all with the player’s name stamped on each, and including; 6 game-used Sher-Woods from the likes of Ron Schock, Ivan Boldirev, Syl Apps Jr., Vic Hadfield, and 2 from Bobby Clarke; from “Canadien” are 3 examples, including B. Sutter, Doug Wilson, and Michel Bergeron; Victoriaville sticks from Bill Flett and Mike Foligno; and a Koho from Walt Tkaczuk. Also in this lot are 3 pattern sticks that weren’t game-used and include a Dave Babych Sher-Wood, a Keith Magnuson Northlands (signed on the blade in clear black marker by Keith), and a Bill Goldsworthy Christian. Of the 12 game-used pattern sticks, evidence of tape can still be seen on many, manufacturing notations are on several, and one of Bobby Clark’s sticks has a large crack on the blade, but otherwise, all sticks remain in excellent although slightly darkened vintage condition.
