Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2015
Longtime NHL linesman Ron Asselstine has signed his game-worn linesman’s jersey from the 1997 All-Star Game in San Jose. Nicknamed “Bear” for his imposing stature, Asselstine has signed in black marker across the top of the “8” of his #38 All-Star gamer. The 1997 NHL All-Star Game San Jose patch sewn on the upper right sleeve adds a splash of color to the black and white striped jersey with the NHL crest sewn on the left breast. Size 48 flag tag sits in the back of the zipper-front collar. Special single-use linesman’s jersey has no discernible wear to report.
Asselstine worked 2,002 regular season games in the WHA and NHL, the latter of which he joined in 1979. He retired in 1998 with 92 Stanley Cup Playoff games and three NHL All-Star Games to his credit.
