Brett Hull’s awesome photo-matched 1987-88 St. Louis Blues game-worn jersey could very well be the Golden Brett’s first Blues gamer! Hull scored six goals and eight assists for 14 points in 13 games with St. Louis after he was acquired in a trade with Calgary, where he had 26 goals and 50 points in 52 games. He had seven goals and two assists in 10 playoff games with the Blues. A photo of Brett hopping off the bench on a Blues 1988-89 calendar included here provides the matches to this game-worn jersey, including four distinctive black marks on the front and another on the lower right sleeve. The “8” Barclay Plager patch is sewn on the left shoulder and CCM logo is embroidered on the right tail. The fight strap is uncut and Maska flag tag in the neck is sewn over by nameplate stitching. More game wear includes three team repairs, black marks on the front and sleeves, board burns on the sleeves and blue paint transfer on the front tail and left sleeve.
“Hull” is spelled out in heat-screened blue vinyl letters on a sewn-on mesh nameplate. The photo matches are the two black marks to the left of the bottom of the Blue Note on the right front, the diagonal black mark that moves upwards to the right from the yellow band in the middle of the front, the diagonal black mark that moves downwards to the right away from the bottom right of the Blue Note, the black marks to the right of the feathers on the Blue Note, and the staccato horizontal black mark on the white portion of the lower right sleeve just below the color bands. Team repairs include one in the yellow band on the left sleeve, another sewing fix on the white portion of the right sleeve above the color bands and to the left of the numbers, and a tiny repair in the yellow band on the left rear tail.
