Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2015
It’s game-issued, not game-used, but no matter, this wooden Sher-Wood belonged to arguably the greatest player to ever don the blades, Gordie Howe, when he was winding down his unbelievable pro career with the New England Whalers of the NHL’s rival WHA. This untaped stick has “G. Howe 9” stamped on the upper shaft and is unmarked, although tiny remnants of black tape remain on the blade. At the end of the shaft, Gordie has signed in pale ballpoint pen as “To Dave, Best of luck, Gordon Howe”. If you can’t find or afford a Mr. Hockey gamer, this is definitely the next best thing.
