Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2015
A trio of game-used goaltender sticks from some very fine big league puckstoppers offered here, beginning with one handled by talented Michel Larocque, who would sadly pass away in 1992 at the age of just 40. Michel’s game-used Canadien stick was used by him in the 1970s when he shared duties with Ken Dryden, with the stick retaining its original blade and knob tape and parts of the multi-colored accent stripes remaining. Nice gamer that shows a scattering of game marks, along with “M. Larocque” stamped on the upper shaft. Next, from Gilles Gilbert’s late-1970s days in Boston is his Victoriaville “Vic” stick, with Gilles’ original tape on the blade and knob, ”Gilbert” stamped on the upper shaft, and along with game marks from top to bottom, the heel area shows a substantial separation of the wood. And lastly, Denis Herron’s game-used Sher-Wood from his time in Montreal in the early-1980s, with game marks showing from the blade upwards, while on the upper shaft is a stamped “D. Herron 32”.
