Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2015

None other than the great Gerry McNeil stopped shots in the 1950s with this game-used CCM stick offered here. McNeil succeeded the legendary Bill Durnan between the Habs pipes beginning on a full time basis in 1950, and this gamer, with “McNeil” stamped on the upper shaft and noticeable game marks scattered about, has original tape on the knob (with a loose strand), while on the blade and paddle are rows of vintage tape added on top of what seems to be McNeil’s original vintage tape underneath. Some wear on the bottom of the blade is to mention. It’s a dandy stick from an excellent Habs goaltender who has his name on the Stanley Cup from the Canadiens 1953 Cup win, and a goaltender who manned the pipes after Durnan and before Jacques Plante.
