Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2015
A grand old Victoriaville Pro gamer from legendary goaltender Rogie Vachon when he was donning the pads for his first NHL team, the Montreal Canadiens, in the late 1960s. With Vachon’s original black tape on the blade and paddle and white on the knob, this classic, vintage stick displays “R. Vachon” stamped on the upper shaft, and Rogie has signed his name on the paddle in nice legible handwriting using clear and dark marker. Game marks are scattered about this beauty which has tape on the heel now apart, and all or parts of the accent stripes on and above the paddle are missing, but all in all, it’s a fine gamer from a fellow Leafs coach Punch Imlach once labeled “a junior B goalie” before the ’67 playoffs but was soon proved absolutely wrong.
