Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2015
Bernie Parent’s late-1960s Philadelphia Flyers game-used stick dates from the HOF goalie’s first stint in the City of Brotherly Love. Bernie! Bernie! Bernie! had two Conn Smythe Trophy wins in his future when he used this Victoriaville Pro gamer with his original tape jobs on the knob, paddle and blade. Parent, who wore #30 during his first stint with the Flyers, has signed the back of the paddle in bold blue marker with the number 1 he made famous while leading the Broad Street Bullies to back-to-back Stanley Cup wins in the 1970s.
Solid game wear shows in red goalpost paint transfer on the shaft, puck gouges to the black tape job on the blade, which has wear along the bottom edge and small chips at the heel.
“Parent” and “Fiberglass Patented 1960 #591454 Made in Canada” stamped on the shaft.
There are green stains on the white portion of the tape job on the knob.
