Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2015

Very fine Ron Hextall/Rendez-Vous pro style, pro weight replica jersey for the offering, from 1987 when the NHL replaced their annual All-Star Game with a 2-game series against the Soviets in Quebec City. Hextall was one of 3 netminders selected for the historic event, along with Grant Fuhr and Clint Malarchuk. Tagged in the collar as a “Maska Air-Knit” with a handwritten “54” added, this bright orange jersey, with all logos and lettering sewn on, also includes the “Rendez-Vous 87” patch on the right breast. Complete with a fight strap, this jersey shows a few small marks near the “NHL” logo, some small marks and puckering on the back number “27”, and Hextall has signed the number “7” in clear and bold blue marker. Definitely a cool pro style All-Star replica jersey representing a feisty and talented goaltender who donned the pads from 1986-87 to 1998-99 with Philadelphia, Quebec, and the Islanders, and one who also racked up an astonishing 113 penalty minutes in 1988-89, an NHL record.
