Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2015

Although not a pro mask, this gorgeous USA-themed Itech goalie mask is the next best thing with full back section and inner foam padding, with not a scratch or blemish to note. Capping it all off are more than 35 Team USA, 2002 Winter Olympics player signatures covering it in blue marker and includes the likes of Modano, Hull, Richter, Chelios, Housley, Amonte, Drury, Roenick, and so many more, although, as is the case nowadays, many signatures are hard to decipher because that’s the way it is with modern day autographs.
Although we can’t exactly say for sure, we think we see the signatures of Leetch and Guerin here as well. We also see Scott Gomez's name near the chin of the mask, but he wouldn't play on the US squad until 2006. With 35+ sigs, this mask was probably signed by tryouts such as Gomez, as well as those who made the final cuts. All signatures are in nice dark blue marker, with just 1 at the very top showing some slight smudging. And the final verdict on the nicest signature on the mask? Mike Modano, a perfectly legible and carefully written autograph. Also included are 14 photos of players signing this cool piece.
