Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2015

As cool as can be is this game-used Northland Pro stick wielded by U.S. Olympian Robert Gaudreau when he and his American squad played in the 1968 Winter Games in Grenoble, France. This gamer, with most of the tape removed but with tape residue remaining, has some wear on the bottom of the blade but otherwise remains in nice condition. On the shaft are 18 signatures from the squad, all signed in clear and beautiful red ink, and includes, along with Lou Nanne and Gaudreau, the legendary HOFer Herb Brooks (ind. 2006), who was a winger on the team and who would ultimately wind up coaching the 1980 “Miracle on Ice’ U.S. team in Lake Placid.
“Gaudreau” is stamped on the upper shaft, while closer to the knob is “Northland Skis, St. Paul Minn. U.S.A. Others signing the stick include Bruce Riutta, Pat Rupp, Larry Stordahl, Doug Volmar, Paul Hurley, Craig Falkman, Jim Logue, Jack Morrison, Larry Pleau, Leonard Lilyholm, Tom Hurley, John Cunniff, Don Ross, Bob Paradise, and Jack Dale. Near the heel in clear red ink is a handwritten “The 1968 Winter Olympics, USA Hockey Team, Grenoble France”.
