Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2015

Tremdously interesting is this 4-scrapbook lot assembled during the 1950s, chock full of star players pictures and newspaper articles from back in the day, although tape marks show on many of the pictures. Regardless, it’s a treasure trove from the days of the Original Six that has within the pages an 8” x 10” b&w photo of HOFer Bun Cook (ind. 1995, dec. 1988), signed in clear blue ink by Cook, along with a 4” x 5” cut from a magazine showing HOFer Babe Pratt (ind. 1966, dec. 1988), nicely signed in blue ink by Pratt. Also included is a 5” x 5 ¾” Milwaukee Sea Gulls Christmas card (with tape marks), signed in blue ink by 15 members of the Sea Gulls, a team that played in the USHL from 1950 to 1951. An 8” x 10” b&w of the 1950-51 PCHL Portland Eagles has been signed by 11 players (picture has some damage), and also of interest is a 1951-52 Chicago Black Hawks pocket schedule (with some tape marks and a couple of small pencil marks), and a newspaper photo and caption of Leafs Cal Gardner and Bill Juzda hoisting Bill Barilko on their shoulders after Barilko scored his legendary overtime goal, Cup-winning goal against the Habs in 1951 (someone has added blue to the Leafs logo and stripes). All in all, even though some pictures have become unglued and most have tape marks, it’s a bundle of fun with this lot from 60+ years ago.
